3/5/11(UPDATED 3/9)-Trade Your 400-level CAPS vs. HAWKS 3/13/11 Seat with My VIP Row B Seat-Part Deux

March 5, 2011

3/5/11 (UPDATED 3/9/11) – THE DEADLINE HAS CHANGED TO FRIDAY, 3/11/11 AT NOON.

Okay Washington Capitals fans, “it’s déjà vu all over again” in Yogi Berra-speak. I’ve decided that sharing the RED ROCKIN’ LOVE is the way to go again this year. Click here to see last year’s “I’ll trade ya” post to get caught-up. This will work the same way it did last year with a few minor adjustments. Here’s the scoop:

1) I have ONE ticket for a seat in Section 120, Row B to the Washington Capitals vs. Chicago Blackhawks nationally broadcast NBC Game of the Week on Sunday, March 13, 2011. You’ll be sitting in a section that usually ends up on TV, so bring your “A” game and your “Hi Mom – tell Eddie Olczyk the Hawks are going down!” sign to the game if you’re the chosen seat-trader. I will trade that ticket with ONE ticket for a 400-level section seat for the same game so long as RESPECT for fellow Capitals fans is an understood concept and put in practice. The ticket holder’s name will be chosen randomly from the names of those who e-mail singingfromthecrease@gmail.com to put his/her name or someone else’s in for consideration and who have followed the directions posted here.

2) This year, I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY NOMINATIONS FROM THOSE WHO TRY TO BUY THE TICKET, TRADE ME FOR TWO TICKETS INSTEAD OF CHOSING ONE NAME AT RANDOM OR MAKE ANY ATTEMPT WHATSOEVER TO GET THE TICKET IN ANY OTHER WAY THAN AN HONEST, RANDOM, SINGLE-SEAT TRADE.

3) Also, Karen (click here to read about her ticket trade last year) is not allowed to enter again this year. BUT, her friend (who has her own seat) and the “alternate” winner may enter again this year.

4) An alternate name will also be chosen for THREE REASONS. IF THE PERSON WHO MEETS ME BEFORE THE GAME IS WEARING A BLACKHAWKS JERSEY, DOES NOT ACTUALLY HAVE POSSESSION OF A VALID 400-LEVEL TICKET OR SOMETHING KEEPS THAT PERSON FROM ARRIVING IN TIME TO TRADE TICKETS BEFORE THE START OF THE GAME, THE ALTERNATE WILL BE CONTACTED AT THE GAME TO MAKE THE TICKET TRADE INSTEAD.

5) So now it’s time to send e-mails to singingfromthecrease@gmail.com with the following information: Your first and last name (or the name of the person you nominate who has a 400-level seat for the 3/13 game), a phone number where you can be reached on Tuesday around noon and the section, row and seat number of the seat up for trade. Please send only one e-mail entry per person. I will then write each nominated name on a separate, identically folded 3 x 5 index card and place it in a bowl. Names will be added to the bowl until 12 noon (EST) on Tuesday, March 8, 2011. I’ll be out in the country that day watching kids and dogs (and testing out my friends’ 4-wheeler, ya know, for safety reasons 🙂 ), so “Gammy” (a.k.a. the kids’ grandmother) will choose a card from the bowl for the trade and then chose another name as the alternate.

Spread the word please if you get a minute. Why am I doing this? Why not. The government contract on which I worked lost funding as of December 1st, 2010, so a few former co-workers and work contacts spent time and money making sure I could get to a few Washington Capitals hockey games this season as close to the ice as possible. Again, I felt it important to pay that effort forward. I like sitting that close to the ice and just like last year, I figured maybe someone who usually sits in a 400-level seat wants to see the ice and game up close and personal.

ROCK THE HOCKEY LOVE CAPS FANS! GEHEN SIE CAPS! Oh and check out this awesome story about a young Alexander Ovechkin fan who will be making a trip to DC to see our Capitals play on March 9th, 2011 (the same day I turn 39, and every year after, I’ll turn 39 too! 😉 ) to meet his favorite NHL player, the GR8 (Captain BOOM). Hooray for Ryan and the Make-a-Wish Foundation (click here )to learn how you can help others like Ryan). – peace – mia – singingfromthecrease@gmail.com and twitter (@creasesinger) luvya
